"Motif" is a police investigation film with a unique female perspective. Dewi (Sharifah Amani), a police officer from Kuala Lumpur, is sent to Tanah Merah to probe the disappearance of a wealthy family's daughter. Her arrival is met with suspicion and resentment from her male colleagues, who are wary of an outsider, especially a woman, entering their community.
